Here are more important charities undertaking vital work for and in our oceans

ZSL – Zoological Society of London – has a number of projects including Project Ocean – In the next decade, our oceans could hold one kilogram of plastic for every three kilograms of fish. Project Ocean 2015 is setting out to raise awareness and drive change to reduce the amount of plastic entering our oceans.

IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas has produced key assessments

The Pew Charitable Trusts uses evidence-based, nonpartisan analysis to solve today’s challenges

Seabirds are amongst the world’s most threatened group of birds. BirdLife’s Marine Programme was established to tackle threats to seabirds. The albatross for example is in trouble due to marine pollution and hooks from commercial fishing.

ASOC – Antarctic and Southern Oceans Coalition – mission : To protect the Antarctic and Southern Ocean’s unique and vulnerable ecosystems by providing the unified voice of the NGO community
