The Metro bus card in Christchurch, New Zealand (pictured above), celebrates native species of plant-life and animals in its artwork – one such design is by local artist Brandon Warrell.
The same design – featuring a kōwhai tree and an inquisitive silver eye – voted (on Facebook in 2017) was the public’s preferred choice for Christchurch’s newest piece of street art (see below)
The Christchurch City Council noted: ‘Christchurch has been ranked alongside New York, Barcelona, Berlin and London as one of the street art capitals of the world and street art has become a key part of the energy of our rejuvenating city.”
